Aug 14 - Palmer/Wasilla
We’ve spent the week visiting and checking out local places. One fun place was the Bleeding Heart Brewery - we sat outside by a fire and tried their root beer and IPAs (made with local ingredients). A food truck was there so we had sliders/fries too. Both fun and tasty! Most of the last week has been rainy but we had a beautiful sunny day and had Tate in a “pool” - he loved that!

August 7 - back to Palmer
We had a great time going to Seward and Hope. Lynice, Kris and I surprised Mom and Dad with a dinner cruise out of Seward. They saw lots of hump back whales and one was breaching for 20 minutes! I stayed with Tate and helped with his bottle. Then the next day Lynice and Kris went zip lining and I babysat again. Then we all went to see Exit Glacier. Very cool!

Then we went to Hope. Historical gold mining town, lots of interesting history and buildings.
These 2 pics are of Passwater Cabin. It was a post office in Hope during the gold rush.

August 1 - Last night at Paradise RV Park
We have had fun in the Palmer/Wasilla area in the last week +. We went to the Fridat Fling in Palmer, there was music and lots of vendors. Tate and Lynice got really pretty sweaters made in Ecuador. We had a fire at our campsite, made hot dogs and s’mores. Tate tried a marshmallow for the first time. I’ve been helping with Tate and Gaara.
And Tate really likes to help Grandpa. Here he’s helping fix a golf cart for someone.

We came to Paradise RV Park last night, will stay here for a while and see the sights around Palmer/Wasilla. Today we are going to Friday Fling in Palmer.

July 21- Hatcher’s Pass/Independence Mine
We drove to Hatcher’s Pass today. Very beautiful blue-green river, we had fun.
Then we drove to Independence Mine, where they used to mine gold. Kristopher pushed me up to the top of a mountain, where the mine opening is!! This is us at the top. See some of the mine buildings behind/below us.

July 20 - at Wasilla
Have been out of cell service. Kristopher helped me this morning to get on wifi at his Grandma and Grandpas house. This is a 57 oz piece of gold we got to see T Tok, AK.
This is the Yukon River. We took our camper across this on a ferry at DawsonCity. Very cool!
Lynice, Kristopher and I when we got to Wasilla.
I got to have my picture taken with Diamond Tooth Gertie and her dancers/singers at Dawson City. Fun!
Tate can climb up on my wheelchair all by himself!

July 16 - Leaving Dawson City
I had so much fun in Dawson City!! I loved Diamond Tooth Gertie’s - amazingly talented singers/dancers. We went to one show Sat nite and 2 shows last nite. We stood by the Yukon River and this morning we are crossing it on a ferry! We also went to the Palace Grand Theatre, which is a beautiful and amazingly restored building built in the late 1800’s.
Can’t seem to load pics this morning but I’ll send a couple from yesterday as soon as I can.

July 14 - Fox Lake to Dawson City
We stayed at a camp site on Fox Lake last night. A friendly camping neighbour said we should try the cinnamon buns at Braeburn so that was our first stop this morning. And wow!!! Delicious, and the size of a dinner plate! Turns out that Braeburn is a checkpoint for the Yukon Quest, so it was an interesting place. PS you can see one of the bun makers behind me,
Our first view of the Yukon River! Huge!
We were surprised when we got to Dawson City. Lots of things to do but the terrain is all dug up and gravel piles surround the town from gold mining. We went to Diamond Tooth Gertie’s. I really enjoyed all the music and dancing, and I want to go again tomorrow. Here’s a pic of Gertie and the dancing girls with me.

July 13 - Watson Lake to Whitehorse
We passed over the continental divide today - the place where water flows on one side to the Pacific, and the other side of the divide flows to the Beauford Sea. Pretty cool! We also went to the George Johnston Museum in Teslin. Very interesting history!

July 12 - Muncho Lake BC to Watson Lake Yukon
Great day today! Saw 8 black bears, a huge buffalo herd and some single buffalos or small groups. We lunched by the Liard River, very beautiful spot. Just fueling up at Watson Lake and then heading to a campground 2 km from here for the night.
Me beside the Liard River.
July 11 evening
In Northern BC, if you see a motorcycle sign “chattering” you likely are going to cross a narrow bridge with a grated bottom!
We stayed at Muncho Lake last night. So beautiful there!

July 11 - Sikanni Chief River
This is called “suicide hill” - 2 km at 11% grade and 3 km at 9% grade. This is where we had trouble last year and stayed just past this bridge for 2 weeks. Drove thru with no issues this year
July 11/18 - to Fort St. John
Good day of driving, got to Fort St John in BC. This is a really steep grade coming into Taylor BC (10% according to sign). Hard to see the bridge in this picture but....this bridge makes mom nervous. Not me tho!

July 8th, 2018
Today is an exciting day because we are finishing up loading up the camper and truck for our trip to Alaska! We are leaving for Alaska tomorrow! My friend, Amanda is going to take our herbs home and water them for us while we are gone. They need lots of water, everyday! Today I’m also hanging out with Amanda! We decided to take a picture. I look like a ghost 👻
That’s all for today, but stay tuned for updates on our trip! I hope you all have a great summer as well
